Old Lyme Children’s
Preschool Newsletter - Jan 2018
This month we are learning:
Colors: Blue & White
Letters: Mm is for Mitten • Yy is for Year • Zz is for Zipper
Happy New Year!
This month we will be focusing on independence: Using the bathroom, wiping noses, and
dressing for winter… so many opportunities to take care of our own needs.
We will learn about Author Jan Brett and read many of her wonderful stories, like “The Mitten”
and “Three Snow Bears”. Her illustrations are just beautiful.
As the month comes to an end we will look at what animals do in the winter, make bird feeders, and explore our snowy world.
Snowmen, Hugs & Kisses, Winter Olympics, Dr. Seuss
Please provide us with outdoor clothes. Hat, mittens, snow pants & boots. The children enjoy going outside everyday, especially once there is snow on the ground.
And please send in tissues!
Happy 2018! We would like to wish you all a very happy year ahead, and we are very grateful for all of you and your children! We hope that 2018 brings a year filled with great memories and joy!
OLCLC Inclement Weather Policy: Please remember to refer to WFSB Channel 3, or email for updates on OLCLC’s operating status in case of inclement weather. As voted on by the OLCLC Board of Directors, OLCLC follows the Region 18 (Lyme/Old Lyme School District) Inclement Weather Policy. Therefore, OLCLC will base all operating status decisions (during the winter months) on Region 18’s decisions.
OLCLC 2018 Holiday Home Tour: We will begin the planning process for our 2018 Holiday Home Tour, that will be held in December. Our Board of Directors is in need of volunteers to help prior to and the day of the event. If you are interested, please contact me.
I hope you have a wonderful month,
